BIRTHDAY FELICITATION: NIGER DELTA CHRONICLE MANAGEMENT CELEBRATES HIGH CHIEF DR. MIKE EBI AYAPAYE, PRAISES HIS COMMITMENT TO YOUTH EMPOWERMENT, PEACE AND RIVERINE DEVELOPMENT

Abuja, Nigeria | October 25, 2026

The Management and Editorial Board of The Niger Delta Chronicle Newspaper heartily felicitate with High Chief Dr. Mike Ebi Ayapaye, the Director-General of the Creek-to-Creek Movement and Chief Executive Officer of the Mike Spring Initiative, on the joyous occasion of his birthday anniversary.

On this special occasion, the management celebrates a distinguished Niger Delta personality, entrepreneur, philanthropist and grassroots development advocate whose passion for human empowerment, community advancement and the welfare of the people continues to inspire hope across the region.

High Chief Dr. Ayapaye has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting the interests of underserved communities, particularly those in the creeks and riverine areas of the Niger Delta. Through his leadership of the Creek-to-Creek Movement, he has continued to draw attention to the developmental challenges confronting these communities, advocating improved access to education, healthcare, potable water, electricity, infrastructure and sustainable economic opportunities.

The Management particularly commends his grassroots engagement and fact-finding initiatives, through which the concerns of rural and riverine residents are documented and brought to the attention of government authorities and relevant stakeholders. His advocacy reflects the importance of ensuring that no community is left behind in Nigeria’s pursuit of inclusive development.

As the Director-General of the Creek-to-Creek Movement, Dr. Ayapaye has championed a development-oriented approach that encourages collaboration among government institutions, private-sector organisations, community leaders and development partners. His vision of connecting the voices of the people in the creeks to the corridors of power represents an important step towards addressing longstanding challenges of neglect and underdevelopment.

The management also recognises his entrepreneurial contributions through the Mike Spring Group and his humanitarian commitment through the Mike Spring Initiative. His initiatives focus on youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, skills development, educational support, mentorship and community welfare, with the broader objective of creating opportunities for young people and vulnerable families to achieve sustainable livelihoods.

Among his notable contributions and areas of impact are:

  • Youth empowerment and entrepreneurship: Promoting skills acquisition, mentorship, enterprise development and opportunities for young people to become economically independent.
  • Community development advocacy: Championing the needs of underserved creek and riverine communities and calling for practical interventions in critical infrastructure and essential services.
  • Educational advancement: Supporting educational opportunities, learning resources and initiatives aimed at improving the prospects of children and young people.
  • Humanitarian and social intervention: Advancing community support programmes focused on children, families, healthcare awareness and the wellbeing of vulnerable people.
  • Peacebuilding and regional unity: His recognition as a Niger Delta Ambassador of Peace in 2026 reflects the public commendation of his commitment to peace, social cohesion and community development.
  • Grassroots representation: Encouraging constructive engagement between local communities, government and development partners to ensure that the concerns of ordinary people receive the attention they deserve.

The Management of The Niger Delta Chronicle Newspaper believes that the Niger Delta needs more leaders who recognize that meaningful leadership goes beyond titles and positions; it requires compassion, accountability, practical engagement and a willingness to stand with the people, particularly those whose voices are often overlooked.

As Dr. Ayapaye celebrates another year, we encourage him to remain steadfast in his commitment to the development of the Niger Delta, the advancement of its youths and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among its diverse communities.

We also urge relevant government agencies, corporate organizations, development institutions and well-meaning individuals to support credible initiatives that prioritize the welfare of riverine communities, promote economic inclusion and create lasting opportunities for the next generation.

On behalf of the Management, Editorial Board and entire workforce of The Niger Delta Chronicle Newspaper, we wish High Chief Dr. Mike Ebi Ayapaye a happy birthday, sound health, renewed strength, greater wisdom, continued success in his endeavors and many more years of impactful service to humanity.

May this new chapter bring greater accomplishments to his businesses, wider reach for his humanitarian initiatives and enduring progress for the people and communities he serves.

Happy Birthday to a distinguished son of the Niger Delta and a champion of grassroots development!
