Two separate road accidents occurring at different locations in Aba, Abia State, over the weekend have left two individuals dead and multiple people injured. The first tragic incident took place at the busy Osisioma Flyover junction when a heavily laden truck crashed directly into a local shop.

According to an eyewitness account, the cargo truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The truck plowed into the commercial area, striking pedestrians and traders in its path. The impact resulted in the immediate death of one male victim on the spot, while approximately six other people sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Following the crash at the flyover, emergency responders and bystanders rushed the injured victims to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. Authorities have not yet officially determined whether the tragic incident was the result of reckless driving by the truck operator or a sudden mechanical failure such as a brake malfunction.

The Abia State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the occurrence of the Osisioma road crash through Sector Commander CC Ngozi Ezeoma, who verified that the deceased was an adult male.

A second fatal road accident occurred on Sunday morning along Port Harcourt Road in Aba. In that incident, an unidentified man who was reportedly on his way to church was struck from behind by a fast-moving motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries that caused his death at the scene.
