Trump said in a statement on his Truth Social account on Saturday that the operation was based on extensive intelligence gathering and careful coordination.
He said al-Minuki was one of the most active ISIS leaders and played a major role in planning attacks and supporting terrorist operations against Americans and African communities.
The US President said this operation would greatly weaken ISIS activities worldwide and reduce the group’s influence in Africa.
Trump also praised the Nigerian government and military for their cooperation during the operation.
