President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, to begin a working visit focused on project inaugurations and political engagements. The trip forms part of a broader two-state itinerary covering Akwa Ibom and Rivers, representing a significant political outing in the South-South region as the ruling party ramps up activities ahead of upcoming electoral cycles.
Upon landing at the Victor Attah International Airport, the President was received by Governor Umo Eno alongside state government officials, party leaders, and crowds of supporters. The itinerary features the official commissioning of several aviation and infrastructure developments situated around the airport precinct, including a newly constructed international terminal building, an airport hospital facility, and the Ibom Aviation Village.
Additional infrastructure slated for inauguration includes the Airport-Okopedi Road connecting communities across Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, which links Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road across Uyo and Ibiono Ibom districts. The President will also commission the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, a security command and control center, and the ARISE Palm Resort.
Concluding the visit, the President is scheduled to appear at an All Progressives Congress rally hosted at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The event brings together party faithful and regional stakeholders to demonstrate political alignment and support for the administration.
