The Ekiti State High Court has officially integrated into the Nigeria Case Management System in a major push to modernise judicial administration and accelerate case resolution. State Governor Biodun Oyebanji stated that the transition represents a fundamental shift away from cumbersome manual procedures toward an efficient, technology-driven judiciary capable of boosting investor confidence and social peace.

Represented by the Acting Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Gbemiga Adaramola, the governor emphasized that a predictable and efficient judicial framework serves as the cornerstone of regional economic growth. The nationwide digital platform facilitates electronic filing, registration, scheduling, and case tracking for both civil and criminal proceedings.

Speaking at the launch event in Ado Ekiti, State Chief Judge Justice Lekan Ogunmoye noted that the innovation aligns local court operations with global technological standards and reduces administrative workloads for judicial staff. He highlighted that electronic processes will improve accessibility and prevent the common logistical hurdles associated with physical paper documentation.

To ensure the long-term sustainability and legal backing of the platform, the Chief Judge announced the introduction of specific practice directions. Because existing procedural laws do not explicitly account for electronic filings, these directives establish that only documents processed through the official portal will constitute proper records for newly initiated matters.

Leadership from the legislative branch also endorsed the digital transformation. The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, commended the judiciary's initiative, noting that the assembly has likewise adopted paperless operations and live broadcasts to enhance institutional transparency and efficiency across the state.
