Festus Keyamo appointed to lead APC 2027 presidential campaign air operations

President Bola Tinubu has named the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, to lead the Directorate of Air Mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress presidential re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 polls. The appointment places the serving cabinet member at the helm of strategic logistical coordination for the nationwide political effort.

Supporting leadership roles within the directorate have also been assigned to prominent sector figures. Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, was appointed as Deputy Director I, while Engineer Farouk Ahmed Umar was named Deputy Director II to bolster the team's administrative capacity.

Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the aviation minister, issued a statement detailing the significance of the new assignments. According to the announcement, the directorate is tasked with handling all air-movement needs, arranging travel for designated campaign personnel, and ensuring comprehensive logistical planning across all six geopolitical zones of the country.

The statement emphasized that the sprawling geographical expanse of Nigeria necessitates efficient coordination of aviation logistics to support campaign activities. The newly formed team is expected to collaborate closely with other campaign structures while adhering strictly to existing aviation regulations and electoral laws.

Supporters of the appointments noted that Keyamo's ongoing tenure as aviation minister brings valuable industry experience to the campaign apparatus.
