The South-East Youths Stakeholders Forum has extended its congratulations to former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, following a Federal High Court judgment that declared him the winner of the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary for the Imo West district ahead of the upcoming general elections.

In the ruling delivered by Justice Obiora Egwuatu in Abuja, the court directed Governor Hope Uzodimma to cease presenting himself as the APC candidate for the scheduled senatorial election. The judicial decision followed a challenge by Okorocha over the official recognition of candidates, with the court concluding that evidence showed Okorocha secured the majority of votes during the primary held earlier in May.

Following the verdict, the youth forum called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to implement the court directives and officially recognize Okorocha as the designated candidate. The group emphasized that compliance with judicial pronouncements is vital for sustaining democratic values, ensuring justice, and maintaining political stability in the region.

Furthermore, the forum appealed to Governor Uzodimma and his supporters to accept the court outcome, pursue internal reconciliation, and foster unity within the ruling party ahead of the polls. The stakeholders stressed that collaboration among key political actors is essential for strengthening the party and achieving collective electoral goals in future exercises.
