The Pan Niger Delta Forum has officially stated that it will not throw its weight behind any political party or presidential contender ahead of the upcoming 2027 general elections. The leadership of the regional group made this announcement following a strategic meeting held in Abuja, which brought together key stakeholders and figures from across the South-South geopolitical zone.

Speaking to journalists after the gathering, the National Chairman of the forum, Godknows Igali, alongside the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Obong Victor Attah, emphasized that the organization functions independently of political affiliations. They clarified that the coalition does not operate as a campaign vehicle for any particular candidate or political platform.

Igali explained that the group has chosen not to dictate electoral choices to residents of the region, emphasizing that individuals should exercise their voting rights independently. Instead of imposing a preferred candidate, the leadership urged citizens to evaluate contenders based on their policy proposals, track records, and capability to address regional development needs.

The organization encouraged voters in the South-South to participate peacefully in the electoral process and cast their ballots according to their personal convictions. They stressed that the primary focus should remain on supporting leaders who demonstrate a genuine commitment to delivering democratic dividends and advancing the aspirations of the Niger Delta communities.
