The family of 46-year-old Ondo businessman Kayode Akinbolusere has raised serious questions surrounding his death after he reportedly recorded a video before allegedly taking his own life at his office in Igba, Ondo State. Akinbolusere, who owned Esther Estate and was known locally as Tolufe, passed away on a Thursday following the suspected ingestion of a toxic substance. Prior to his death, a video began circulating on social media showing the businessman discussing his life struggles and stating that he was leaving his properties to his wife and three children residing in Canada.

In the widely shared recording, Akinbolusere insisted that his decision was made voluntarily without any outside pressure. He mentioned encountering workplace equipment failures and reflected on his entrepreneurial journey, acknowledging his wife's support during difficult times when he worked as a barber. However, the specific phrasing he used in the video, particularly his choice of words regarding surrendering his assets, quickly drew suspicion from his relatives who believe the circumstances warrant deeper scrutiny.

The deceased uncle, Femi Akinbolusere, voiced strong doubts regarding the voluntary nature of the recorded message during an interview with the press. He argued that the manner in which his nephew spoke and laughed while surrendering his belongings suggested that someone might have been coercing him off-camera. The family has consequently urged security operatives to analyze the audio and video footage closely, questioning whether pressure or external threats were involved in the final moments of the businessman's life.

In response to the concerns raised by the family, the Ondo State Police Command stated that preliminary investigations did not reveal any immediate signs of foul play. According to a statement released by the state police spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, officers from the Bolorunduro Division visited the scene near Igba Town where they recovered two empty insecticide bottles from a nearby bush. Authorities confirmed that the remains of the deceased were evacuated and transferred to the State Hospital Morgue for preservation and further medical examination as investigations continue.
